David M. Kam, MD
Dr. Kam, the most recent physician to join Grand Traverse Surgery, PC, arrived in Traverse City in late 2007 with a vast amount of experience and knowledge. Prior to his arrival, he completed more than 800 Bariatric procedures, including Laproscopic Gastric Bypass and Adjustable Gastric Banding. He has additional clinical interests in breast cancer, minimally invasive surgery, endoscopy, gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary surgery, and is directly involved with the Trauma Service at Munson Medical Center.
Dr. Kam is board certified in Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. He was a Trauma and General Surgeon in Lansing, where he developed the Sparrow Hospital Bariatric Surgery program, and was a full-time Bariatric surgeon in Ann Arbor. Dr. Kam grew up in Grand Rapids and graduated from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. He completed his Surgical Residency at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids and his Fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Kam lives in Traverse City with his wife, Lorraine Nall, MD, an Internist with Thirlby Clinic, and his son, Michael. His interests include music, art, cooking and fine dining, gardening, and enjoying the great outdoors.
